In December 2020 an Art Project took place with Tameside Women’s Centre and artist Toubie Jack to create a mural focusing on positivity and hope.
The project originally planned for early 2020 was a partnership between Global Groves and the Tameside Ambassadors. Due to take place in person at the Women’s Centre it was then re-imagined virtually, using video group calls and YouTube sessions.
Artist Toubie Jack lead a seven-week programme meeting online as participants followed art prompts every week demonstrated by Toubie. Together they made a mural, focusing on positivity, hope, relaxation, and wellbeing during the pandemic. The outcome was a mural created using the art of Zentangles and Mandalas to be showcased in the Tameside Women’s Centre.
