Create a play-in-a-day with local people from Leigh, Atherton and Tyldesley, to be performed at the Royal Exchange Theatre Studio.
Come along and create a Play in a Day with local people from Leigh, Atherton & Tyldesley at the Royal Exchange Theatre studio on 13 January 2024.
After a year of successful ‘Spinning Tales’ workshops, the Leigh, Atherton & Tyldesley Local Exchange Ambassadors have mastered this fantastic project! Come along to write, design and perform a play together with a closed performance (just for the group) at the end of the day. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience different aspects of theatre making, get creative and play!
Afterwards participants will then be given the opportunity to see the main house show Brief Encounter at 7:30pm for free.
This opportunity is open to anyone age 14+ with a connection to Leigh, Atherton & Tyldesley. Attendees do not have to have previously been involved in Spinning Tales, or any other Local Exchange activity within the area, and no previous theatre making experience is necessary. Just come along and have fun!
The Play in a Day will be led by Sam Holland-Bunyan, Sam is currently Birkbeck Resident Assistant Director & Resident Director within the Engagement Team at the Royal Exchange Theatre. Find out more about Sam here.
The day will also be supported by other theatre professionals including Eleanor Ferguson, a set, costume and puppet designer, maker and artist, they are also a Local Exchange Ambassador living in Leigh. Find out more about Eleanor here.
