What are the types of works are being shown in the exhibition?
• Painting and Prints
• Illustration and Drawing
• Photography
• Sculpture and Object
• Digital/Mixed Media (Any digital media will be shown on a projector on a loop, if language is used subtitles are essential. Pieces can be maximum 10 minutes long).
Who can enter?
Anyone aged 5+, there will be three categories. Junior (5-10), Young Person (11-16), Adult (16+). Children under the age of 13 must have their work submitted by a parent/guardian or teacher. For anyone under 18, we will need the contact details of a parent or guardian.
What can I win?
The opportunity to have your artwork on exhibition during the festival at the Ukrainian Centre, free tickets to a Royal Exchange Theatre performance. The Junior and Young Person categories will ALSO receive a free drama workshop for your school class.
How can I enter my work?
Please complete this form when you have completed your artwork, it will ask for some basic information from you and a picture or video file of your work. Each person can submit a maximum of two pieces into the competition.
Dates
Opening Date – Monday 7th February, 10am.
Closing Date – Monday 23rd May, 10am.
Judging
We will judge each artwork anonymously, without knowing the artist’s name. Our judges will be looking for the pieces that celebrate and reflect Cheetham Hill and Crumpsall.
Competition Rules
1. The Den Art Competition is open to anyone who lives, works, or has a connection to Cheetham Hill and Crumpsall.
2. The three age categories are: Primary School (ages 5-10), Secondary School (11-16), Adults (16+).
3. We can only accept two entries per person (if you send more than two, we will only judge the first two you submit)
4. The piece must be an original piece of work.
5. The entrant/s must exclusively own and control all copyright and all other related rights to the submitted piece.
6. The submitted piece must be available for displaying in the exhibition and unattached to any other arts company or institution.
7. We do accept group submissions.
