Welcome to Tameside where we have begun our second residency of Local Exchange in the area.
We have been working with local communities since 2018 to celebrate and build arts and culture in, for, and by Tameside.
Now, we are looking forward to our second community festival in the area, with the Royal Exchange’s pop-up theatre, the Den, returns to Stalybridge in 2025.
Our programming is led by our Local Exchange Ambassadors and Champions, with whom we make and shape an arts programme bespoke to their area following conversations about the changes they would like to see in the local area. We work closely with local community groups and organisations to co-produce arts projects, as well as training and educational opportunities. Led by local people throughout, we hope to ensure Local Exchange benefits local communities first and foremost.

You will be greeted by your 70s obsessed host, Josh, before you board the coach and are treated to a unique interactive journey of music, games and 70s glam! After watching Abigail’s Party, Josh will guide you back to the bus which will bring you back to Stalybridge Civic Hall.
Previously:
In 2021 a group of residents from across Tameside worked with the Royal Exchange to create a 2-week festival of arts, crafts and culture THE DEN AT STALYBRIDGE.
Together with local communities, we’ve since commissioned theatre, produced creative workshops, and supported the creation of local community group PEOPLE’S COMMUNITY DUKINFIELD.
