Casting for productions

Our productions are created on different timelines and in different circumstances – sometimes casting decisions will have been made long before a production is announced publicly, the role you’d like to be considered for may already be cast, or the artistic vision for a character may be very different to that of the original script.

We work with freelance Casting Directors for all our productions, and we recommend you use Spotlight and keep your profile up to date for the best chance of being considered for a role. If you want to express interest in a particular role, you can send your Spotlight link or CV to casting@royalexchange.co.uk but please be aware that you’ll receive an auto-response, as we don’t have capacity to respond to individual enquiries.

Open auditions

We hold regular open audition days throughout the year for actors based in Greater Manchester. In 2022, we had over 1000 responses to our callouts, and met with sixty local actors chosen by random selection.

These auditions aren’t for a particular production or opportunity, but rather to widen our knowledge of local actors with a view to finding the right people for future projects, productions, script development, R&Ds, and workshops.
