Armoghan leads the PwC practice for the North of England overseeing PwC’s people, client and community activity across the region.
Having grown up in the North, he is a proud supporter of its people, places and businesses, and is passionate about promoting social mobility and providing equal access to opportunities for everyone.

Rachel Armstrong

Rachel is an experienced international energy and climate change professional, with over 20 years of private sector experience working on infrastructure and construction management, change management, stakeholder engagement and project and programme delivery.
A mother, wife and mentor she is committed to learning and making a difference, specifically in the area of climate change response and decarbonisation of industry. Rachel is the Director of Industrial Decarbonisation and Emissions Trading at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, she is based in Salford, working to deliver a thriving net zero economy and building back better and greener.
She has always been an avid theatre goer and is delighted to be able to contribute to the Royal Exchange community with her business skills.

afshan d’souza-lodhi
Trustee
afshan d’souza-lodhi was born in Dubai and forged in Manchester. She is a writer of scripts and poetry. Her work has been performed and translated into numerous languages across the world.
afshan has been writer-in-residence for Sky Studios, New Writing North, Royal Exchange Theatre, Warner Bros Discovery and in 2023 was writer-in-residence for Bluebird Pictures. afshan was also one of the first to receive The National Theatre’s Peter Shaffer award in 2022. afshan has been a BAFTA BFI Flare mentee and is developing multiple projects or both TV and Film. A TV pilot she wrote called Chop Chop, was selected for the second annual #MuslimList (The Black List).
As well as her own writing, afshan is keen to develop other younger and emerging artists and sits on the boards of Manchester Literature Festival, Pie Radio and Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester. She is also the Writers Guild Great Britain (WGGB) Regional chair of Manchester and Lancashire.

She currently works as Chief Legal Officer for a digital advertising business.
She is a Trustee of Caritas Care, a charity which provides a wide range of services including adoption, fostering, disability support services and ex-offenders programmes.

Nicole is Executive Producer at Young Identity. Young Identity is an arts organisation and a charity delivers dynamic poetry and spoken word workshops for young people aged 13–30 working with educational institutions, communities and arts organisations locally, nationally and internationally.
Nicole describes herself as a Millennial – Producer, dramaturg, director and Writer. She was the Dramaturg for Alphabus Manchester International Festival (2019).
Nicole is Associate Producer and Dramaturg at the theatre company Fio. She also was the Writer and Dramaturg for Timelines performed at RawFFest (2019).
Nicole is a member of the UpRisingGM Advisory Board.
Nicole is a graduate from Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts with a BA (hons) Music, Theatre and Entertainment Management.
On behalf of the British Council, she taught a writing residency in Colombo and performed at Galle Literature Festival (2019).
She was one of twelve poets commissioned from BBC and Forward Arts Foundation to write the North West Poem for National Poetry Day 2018. Nicole has performed and taught spoken word and performance both nationally and internationally, as part of Young Identity and as a solo performer and practitioner.
Nicole received a fellowship and established AndWhat TV.

Gurjeet Singh

Gurjeet Singh is an actor born and raised in Old Trafford, Manchester. He has worked in Stage, Television, Film and Radio.
Gurjeet trained as an actor in the Royal Exchange’s Young Company as a performer and leader in 2014. Whilst there his professional acting career took off and years later he returned to the Exchange performing in HOBSON’S CHOICE, WUTHERING HEIGHTS and NO PAY? NO WAY! Gurjeet is also a Royal Exchange Freelance Practitioner, delivering workshops to the Young Company and young people around Manchester.
Having seen his first theatre show here, training in the Young Company and performing here as an experienced actor, Gurjeet is delighted to join the board as a Trustee.

Jo has over 20 years’ experience as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser in Big 4 global professional services firms. She advises Private Equity Funds and their portfolio companies on M&A transactions.
She’s a former trustee of a Manchester youth homelessness charity, where she chaired the finance committee, and is a governor of a primary school in Wythenshawe where she chairs the Finance, Premises and People sub-committee.

Jo has been working in the cultural sector for 30 years. She launched Fly a Kite in 2024 with co-director Lorna Dennison to help organisations grow and diversify their audiences by building successful brand strategies and using audience insights to make powerful connections with the right people.
Jo spent the previous four years as Director of Audiences at Rambert leading the teams dedicated to growing and diversifying Rambert’s fanbase, widening access and deepening relationships with Rambert’s brand. This included all marketing, digital, community and participation activity. Following the rebrand and deployment of a disruptive brand strategy, Rambert’s audiences are at an historical-time high, as well as transformed in terms of diversity, younger audiences and new-to-dance audiences.
As a Director at Morris Hargreaves McIntyre (MHM) for 10 years Jo’s work also frequently focused on brand strategy, informed by deep audience insight and segmentation. In this capacity she led the rebrand at Shakespeare’s Globe, played a key role in the rebrand of Bristol Beacon (formerly Colston Hall) and supported clients including Donmar Warehouse, The Old Vic, Historic Royal Palaces, Royal Albert Hall, BBC Proms, Philharmonia, Kew Gardens, Somerset House, RNLI, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, and in the US, Lincoln Center, The Public Theater, 92Y, Kennedy Center and SFMOMA.
Before this Jo spent 18 years in marketing roles for festivals, venues and touring companies including senior roles at Welsh National Opera and Wales Millennium Centre.
