A brand-new one-man play by Manchester writer Joe Mallalieu.

“The straighter the stud work, or the brickwork is, the easier it is to board. Cuts always to the edge, the flatter the boards go on, the easier it is to skim. If the preps done well, the plaster goes on well. If things are done right at the start, things go easier later on.”

Meet Danny, he’s a hard working lad but he’s been up all night… now he’s rushing to finish a job before he says goodbye to an old friend.

Rum by Joe Mallalieu is a raw one man play, especially selected for The Den by our Beswick, Openshaw, and Clayton Ambassadors, that explores wrestling with masculinity, mental health and addiction in the trades. Presented as a work-in-progress performance.
