Welcome to Beswick, Openshaw and Clayton, where we worked with local communities to create a 4 year programme of art, creativity and theatre.
From 2021 to 2025 we took up residency in Beswick, Openshaw and Clayton, working with local communities to shape a 4 year programme of art and creativity in the area.
In August 2023, we brought our mobile theatre, the Den, to The East Manchester Academy in Beswick for the East Manchester Community Festival. Nine days of events, performances, workshops and activities, co-created and delivered by our local Ambassadors.
Following the festival we continued working in partnership with housing association One Manchester, Beswick Library and The Resonance Centre, and while working closely to consult with residents in the Grey Mare Lane Estate, to establish long-term engagement projects, Chatty Crafts and Beswick Young Company.
We are proud to see the legacy of these initiatives continue as Chatty Crafts and Beswick Young Company are taken into local ownership.
